A History Built on Bold Subs

From our humble first day on Yonge Street to becoming a proud Canadian sub institution — here's how Firehouse Subs grew to become what it is today.

2009

The First Firehouse Sub

We opened our first location at 513 Yonge St in Toronto, Canada. With just six signature firehouse sub recipes and a small but passionate team, we set out to prove that a great sub could change your day.

2012

Menu Expansion & Local Recognition

After three years of perfecting our craft, we expanded our menu to 20+ items and received our first local food award. Toronto began to recognise Firehouse Subs as the go-to destination for bold, hearty subs in the city.

2015

Online Ordering Launched

We launched our digital ordering platform, allowing customers across Toronto to place orders for pickup and delivery. Bringing the firehouse sub experience directly to your door became our new mission.

2018

Community Foundation Established

We launched the Firehouse Subs Community Fund, committing a portion of every sale to local Toronto charities, food banks, and first responder appreciation programmes. Giving back became part of our DNA.

2021

Catering & Corporate Services

We introduced full-scale catering and corporate meal services, bringing our signature firehouse sub experience to office lunches, events, and gatherings across the Greater Toronto Area.

2024

New Website & Canada-Wide Reach
